Many people believe that today there is a general increase in anti-social behavior and lack of respect for others. What might have caused this situation? How to improve it?

 

In the recent times, it is believed by many people that there is continuous surge of anti-social behavior and decline in respect for others is seen in many areas across the globe. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons behind the above activities and suggest ways to ameliorate the situation.

To begin with, the first reason is that in this modern era, everybody is connected to others through internet but the warmth of relationships have taken a back seat and moreover, people are so busy with their works and not giving enough time to spend time with their children to teach them about how to behave with others. Moreover,  few decades back, grandparents are the one who taught  morals and manners to the younger generation and this current generation is  missing their valuable learning

The second reason is that, thirst for money is surging in everyone and thereby it leads to the greedy to become richer and thus motivating majority of people to earn money in shortcuts. For instance, the crime rate of robbery and the other illicit activities like kidnapping, chain snatching and brutal murders for money and other valuable things are increasing. Furthermore, respect is given mainly based on the social and economic status of the other person.

The remedies for this cause is illustrated by firstly, people have to learn to strike a balance between work and family life, this will increase the connection between the parents and their offsprings and people should revert back to old joint families where the people can learn the moral values and manners from their grandparents. Secondly, the government must imply strict rules to those who commit crimes just to become rich and more number of police force must be recruited to restrict the crimes. Furthermore, multiple surveillance cameras should be put at every corner of the street so that the criminals won’t be able escape from the digital eyes. Awareness among the citizens regarding the crimes should be spread so that the people will be more careful.

To summarize, I would like to recapitulate that the reasons for anti-social behavior and lack of respect are unethical activities to become richer and the lack of emotional connection with the family and these can be dealt by simple measures taken by individuals and government collectively.

Have you ever been to any island? Yes, I have! Actually, I lived on an island for 3 months back in 2016. My mother was offered to work at a resort for 2 years, so I joined them there for 3 months.  Isl and life was quite an interesting experience! Are there any islands in your country? Yes, there are.
