IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - DISCUSS BOTH VIEWS - RUTWIK REDDY ANUGU

Many countries want to host international sports event, while other countries think that hosting sports events has more problems than benefits. Discuss both views & give your opinion. 

 

Many people believe that hosting an international sports event brings more problems, while others think it benefits the country in many aspects. In my opinion, I believe that the benefits outweigh the problems caused by the event because it helps the country in building a good relationship with other countries.

On the one hand, most of them believe that these events bring problems. The major problem is that it requires much capital to organize the event, which most countries cannot afford. Most of the small countries think that this money could be invested in the welfare of the people.

On the other hand, another set of people thinks that these global events escort more advantages to the country. The main plus is it nurtures the growth of healthy relationships among the nations. In other words, we can say these events are the symbol of unity between the countries. The additional privilege of these events is, instead of 'being a frog in the well,' the host nation would be witnessing some unprecedented events and the host country can have a clear-cut view of the host nation's position in any field, say, technology, talent in the particular sport, culture, etc. 

To include, I think the merits of organizing intercontinental events are more than their demerits. Although, heavy investment in organizing the event is a big concern,  but, if everything goes well, it brings the host country good profits in different forms - economically, popularity, and politically.
