IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - AGREE/DISAGREE- SHARASCHANDRA

The crime rate nowadays is decreasing compared to the past due to advance technology which can prevent and solve crime. Do you agree or disagree?

 To commence with, is crime rate dimnishing currently  when compared to the  past? Is crime rate decreasing  due to advance technology? Will technology solve or prevent crime? if yes, how will that happen? In this essay, I am going to shed some light on this topic with my opinion at the end.

 I completely agree that crime rate decreased when compared with past because of enrichment in technology. Firstly, in the  past, there were no cctv cameras and no finger print detection mechanisms, but in today's generation, we have cctv cameras almost present everywhere and these acts as disincentive for people to commit crime. Nowadays security is also enchanced by technology. For instance, in past as we need to carry physical money, chances of burglary was high, whereas, today's technology brought many changes and we can have virtual money which makes transactions as a piece of cake.

 Secondly, as credential companies brought new and creative ideas in to picture like Uber and Ola which are secure for travelling at any time. This increased the security of people at odd timings. Along with this, technology brought many employment oppurtunities for people which enriched the living standard of many people and reduced crime rate.

 To conclude, I believe that technology does not directly prevent crime but stops people and influence their attitude from commiting crime and it also reduced crime rate when compared with past, so technology has significant impact on people and brought positive changes into society.

Have you ever been to any island? Yes, I have! Actually, I lived on an island for 3 months back in 2016. My mother was offered to work at a resort for 2 years, so I joined them there for 3 months.  Isl and life was quite an interesting experience! Are there any islands in your country? Yes, there are. There is one famous island called X, famed for its  crystal clear  water and white sands. I’ve heard the pagodas are very interesting to visit there, as well.
