IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - OPINION ESSAY - PRIYA BASETTY

SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT COOKING FOOD AT HOME IS A WASTE OF TIME, THEY THINK THAT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS HAVE MADE MODERN LIVING EASY AND LESS STRESSFUL. TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE?

Food is the fuel of the human body, it is essential for various activities of day to day life. Whilst few individuals opine that simmering food at their own habitat is dwindling, and sustenance can be ordered from outside eateries which are non burdensome and effortless.I partially agree with this statement and I will put down in black and white all the pros and cons of the same.

On the one side of the coin, in the very first place, the effortless availability of the junk food made it a cakewalk for the individuals with a tedious work schedule. Apparently, all the burden of chopping vegetables, doing the dishes, shopping for groceries is diminished by ordering from drive-ins. Secondly, for young persons or youngsters who cannot prepare snacks for themselves, eating at food stands to resolve the problem. Thirdly, the ambiance of the restaurant is cozier and the meals are more delicious when compared to homemade food.

On the flip side of the coin, the main reason for my propensity for eating at home is that consuming home food and preparing the same by themselves can enhance the emotion among the family members and can bring pleasure to everyone. Additionally, dining at home is more economic than to dine outside which is pocket friendly to all and the hygiene maintained at home is not replicable by hotels. Furthermore, ingredients used for cooking can be of our choice like organic vegetables, organic dals, and pulses and olive oil that outweighs the quality used by restaurants. In other words, delegating the process of cooking in some cafeterias have a dramatic disadvantage of not having information about the additives used in the meals. Owing to the artificial flavours or preservatives used by these outlets, the state of health of consumers can be affected to a greater note.

Taking everything into account, the balance in which cannot be struck. Restaurant food is alluring and easy to consume when compared to preparing at home, Nonetheless, this approach has a critical disadvantage of being luxurious and perilous to health in the long run.
