IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - DIRECT ESSAY - SANATH REDDY CHAPPIDI

Some people like to travel outside of their countries. Others would rather travel to the tourist spots in their own country first before traveling abroad. Which do you prefer to do and why? Include specific details and examples to support your choice.

Travel means visiting locations across the world and its purpose varies from person to person depending upon the circumstances. Some of the main intentions behind to travel new places are  - pleasure, relaxation, exploration, and fulfilling self dreams. Having no boundaries, one can travel anywhere throughout the globe with their own strong-will, and in my opinion, I will fly my own country before traveling overseas.

On the one hand, my country's geographical structure is very unique compared to other nations. The northern region is surrounded by "The Great Himalayas", the eastern belt is famous for "Bay of Bengal ", the western territory has its own share like - "Thor Desert ", "Arabian Sea" and many more. Finally, the southern region also called Deccan-Platon, with a long coastal area fenced by "The Great Indian Ocean". Furthermore, the north-east section has a special place in India's culture, wildlife, and Tea gardens. There are so many places to visit in all these areas and they are like dream places to encounter and stay. For instance, the state, Himachal Pradesh is no way lesser than a country like Switzerland, because of its opportunities like - snow-skating, mountain trekking, paragliding, river- rafting, and many cultural heritage sites. In addition, if a place offers such magnificent stuff to a tripper, there is no need to visit any other country.

On the other hand, some people believe that only foreign places have great heritage structures, historical places,  beautiful landscapes, and many more. All this is because of, having less clue or awareness about their own land and more information about abroad places through digital media. In addition, those trips are very expensive and that particular individuals are indirectly helping other nations to grow economically and directly became a cause for their own country's downfall in the tourism industry. For example, a recent survey revealed that a place like Bangkok, had more visitors from India compared to other countries especially at year-end and this is a dreadful situation for India.

In conclusion, as a traveler, one needs to encourage others to become a global ambassador for their own nation instead of becoming a vocal for non-local nations. In the long run, it might benefit every individual as a part of a slogan like "Together, we become stronger".
