IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - DIRECT ESSAY - SANATH REDDY CHAPPIDI

Levels of youth crime are increasing rapidly in most cities around the world. What are the reasons for this, and suggest some solutions.

Crime has its own deep roots in every segment of society across the world. Any unlawful activity is considered as a crime and it has many names. Nowadays, most of the teenagers are indulging in offensive activities despite having any prior criminal background. In the following paragraphs, I will pen down my views regarding the reasons behind the crimes and solutions related to it respectively.

To begin with, there are numerous explanations of how an individual solely or with the help of others is involved in wrongdoings. Firstly, movies and tv shows, which are completely crime-related, indirectly give an impression about the ideology about these violent acts and the visuals on the screen have more impact on young minds. Additionally, these are the factors that help in executing such felony things in their youngest life. Secondly, the urge to earn money quickly for illegal deeds such as smoking weed, consuming drugs and many more are the motives that led to large scale atrocities highly in urban areas. Thirdly, the latest gaming experiences are also one of the main affecting reasons that lead to these evil behaviours.

In contrast, instead of blaming the entertainment sectors for spoiling their kids, everyone needs to provide better education and finding the most effective solutions to avoid criminal behaviour in children's minds is the need of the hour. Moreover, by collaborating parents, teachers and the government should create stronger awareness about the addictions that adults are facing commonly in their underages. Furthermore, it is better to restrict teenagers from watching crime based tv programmes as well as crime-based games too.

In conclusion, crime is like a growing tree instead of focusing on branches and leaves, one needs to find out the roots where it is taking place and pluck it out at the very beginning stage and this is one of the many ways, slowly and gradually we can eradicate the crime rate in our surroundings.
