IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - DIRECT ESSAY - ARAVIND REDDY PALLREDDY

Some people fail in school, but end up being successful in life.

Why do you think that is the case?

What is the most important thing to succeed in life?

In this competitive contemporary world, nowadays, most educational institutions believe that academic qualification is considered to be the only means of achieving success in one's life. There are several sectors apart from school education which determine the success of a person, which I will elucidate in the subsequent paragraphs and discuss my opinion in the end.

To commence with, most educational institutions are still following old-fashioned and outdated methods and as a result, they stifle the creativity of the students. In other words, they do not access the out of the box intelligence of a student, they only consider the grades. Consequently, many students drop out. Moreover, failing in school is not necessarily a sign of intellectual weakness. Rather, it could be an indication of a student's inability to benefit from conventional methods of learning. There are many students who fail in exams because the school curriculum is beyond their level of comprehension. Yet, many of them achieve success in life because they possess some other skills. For instance, they may be good at singing or acting or they have an interest in trading.

In addition, success actually requires skills and personality traits. In order to be successful in life, a person should possess the right attitude, determination, and willingness to work hard. If they have some academic credentials, it might improve the chances of finding success. Finally, education is one of the measures of individual potential, but without hard work and perseverance, no one cannot achieve success in life.

To encapsulate, in my perspective, just because if someone failed an exam, it does not mean that they will not get success in life. Success is a by-product of hard work and perseverance. The academic qualification will improve a person's chances of achieving success but it is not a prerequisite.
