IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - AGREE/DISAGREE - ARAVIND REDDY PALLREDDY

Some people think that only the government should make significant changes in society, while others think that individuals can have a lot of influence.

To what extent do you agree?

In this modern world, making substantial changes in society has always been a major concern of every nation. Some people opine that changes can be made by the government, while others argue that individuals can make difference and eventually change in society. I partially agree with this altercation and pen down my view point in the forthcoming paragraphs.

On the one hand, it is considered that the government of every nation can make changes in society by enforcing laws and conducting awareness programs. In other words, people's safety can only be ensured if the government enforces laws and order in society. For instance, according to the social experiment, safety is a crucial matter in a society which is being expected by people from the ruling administration. Moreover, the government should take effective steps while conducting awareness programs, which will help the people to understand acute problems of a society. Thus, it is clear that the government takes a vital role in making a significant difference between a worse and better society.

On the flip side, despite the government aid, individuals should recognize the responsibilities towards the betterment of a society.  Firstly, people can change the society by actively participating in social activities. For example, being a social activist, they realize and resolve the critical issues faced by society. Secondly, the youngsters should be encouraged to attain higher education, thereby setting an example to the people who are demoralized in their life. Finally, an individual can be helpful and kind to others, especially those who are in need. Last but not the least, every individual has a potential to change the society simply by encouraging and motivating themselves.

To encapsulate, in my perspective, although it should be a prime responsibility of the government to make changes in society, as well as, individuals has to be mature and responsible towards the society.
