IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - AGREE/ DISAGREE - BHAVYA HARIKA
THE GOVERNMENT IS SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY TO DISCOVER LIFE ON OTHER PLANETS. SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT GOVERNMENT IS WASTING MONEY AND SHOULD SPEND MORE MONEY ADDRESSING THE PROBLEMS OF PUBLIC. TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE?
A lot of money is being spent by the government to explore other planets and to locate the existence of life and creatures on those planets as well. However, some people argue that this step taken by the government is leading to the wastage of money and unnecessary expenditure which can be used in solving the prevalent issues of the society instead. I partially agree with this statement given by people.
On the onset, the government is trying and implementing various methods of searching to trace the viability of life on neighbouring planets. to some extent, it is a good initiative. by finding the other possible sources of life and life forms on the other planets, one can get to know about the environment around us, and can further analyse the findings and can improve the quality of living if possible. In other words, the government can send astronauts to those respective planets for deeper investigations and if the existence of other creatures is proved, that would be a great surprise and a trending topic to be addressed.
On the contrary, there are several other elements in the society alongside discovering life on other planets which are to be taken care of. A few of them include traffic problems, poverty, water scarcity and many more. Despite the knowledge of all these current complications, concentrating more on the above problem is not fair enough. Instead, the government can use this lump sum of money in resolving these problems of the public which are supposed to be the pre-eminent subject.
To sum up, in my opinion, both the keynotes are important, but the latter is of utmost priority. The government needs to address and find solutions to the issues of the current planet we are living on. Then, they can focus on exploring the next planets. the government must choose wisely of the problems to be concerned about in the first place.
